OpenOffice is a word processing tool for the purpose of creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. OpenOffice tools are compatible with almost all operating systems. Grammar checking can be considered as an implementation that is provided to OpenOffice users for enabling text iteration and grammar checking process. The three kinds of grammar checking options provided with OpenOffice documents are automatic grammar checking, interactive grammar checking through context menu and interactive grammar checking through dialog.
Discussed below are some points related with the sample process of automatic grammar checking:
- Accessing GCIterator
- Creates FPIterator
- Results from the grammar checker
As the first process, the document to be checked will get access to the GCIterator. The GCIterator is responsible for carrying out the sample process of grammar checking upon the document with the creation of queues and other iterating options. The iterator start the process by calling the function, startGrammarChecking (). As a result the document gets an identity through a unique interface. Also a flag will be created for enabling the automatic checking process.
FPIterator is created by the GCIterator and the function of the FPIterator is in flag passing for the automatic grammar checking. The FPIterator know the fact that the document should be checked from the first paragraph itself at each iteration. The FPIterator is also responsible for including current paragraph and starting position of the paragraph into the queue created by the GCIterator.
The GCIterator checks the whole document written by the user with the help of creating queues. The document contents that are edited by the user will be added to the queue and the each entry will be rechecked while the user edits the document. The iterator will move to the starting position of each paragraph at every checking process. The result of the document that has been checked by the grammar checker is displayed at the XGrammarCheckerResultListener interface which is provided by the GCIterator and is included at the callback method.
