Windows Media Player 11 requires a 233MHz Intel Pentium II processor and at least 64MB of memory. It requires at least 200MB of free hard drive space and a CD/DVD-writer for playing audio and also requires a 800 x 600 Super VGA display with a video card containing 64MB of Video RAM and DirectX 9.0b. It plays almost all media formats including WMV, MPEG-4, and AAC formatted files.
Windows Media Player 10 requires a 24-bit sound card, to run High-Definition audio and video that is compatible with digital media content. The processor needed is an Intel Pentium II or AMD processor at a speed of 233MHz. The Operating system supported is Windows XP, and you can also install Windows XP Service Pack 2.
